0-8-4T Engerth loco (1849)

Designed in Germany, this 0-8-4 tank loco was designed for heavy goods freight operations and passenger trains. They initially used articulated rear bogies of the loco, but what is depicted here is the fixed frame version of 1849. Built between 1849 and 1850, these 0-8-4T top-end freight locos were not very successful as the mechanics were too difficult to maintain. They were withdrawn before the turn of the century.

What is depicted here is a set of 3 of these locos, depicted in a typical industrial/dockside environment. They are all different, and tested for TRS2004 & TRS2006, include period footplate crew (there wasnt a cab in those days) animated coal loading, user selectable headcodes and taillamps and footplate views. One has a 'spectacle plate' for crew protection that can be seen in some of the pics. Oother liveries, NBR and SC Plum may be seen in the last pics, along with the NBR Coupe 1st Coaches.
