0-8-0 Beugniot Goods loco (1855)

Designed in France, this 0-8-0 was designed for heavy goods freight operations. They used an articulated link to the tender tosupport the weight of the tender onto the rear driving wheels of the loco. Built around 1855, these 0-8-0 top-end freight locos were not very successful as the mechanics were too difficult to maintain. They were withdrawn before the turn of the century.

What is depicted here is 2 of a set of 3 of these locos, depicted in a typical industrial/dockside environment. They are all different, and tested for TRS2004 & TRS2006, include period footplate crew (there wasnt a cab in those days) animated coal loading, user selectable headcodes and taillamps and footplate views. Two have a 'spectacle plate' for crew protection that can be seen in some of the pics. The full weathering may be seen in the last pics.
