N & W A Class 2-6-6-4

The pack contains 3 different 1200 A Class locos and matching tenders, any Railroad name, any number, animated cab crew, including 12 months warranty, all updates and fixes for $12 US. You may specify numbers (N&W 1200-1242) or they will be assigned. Full weathering add $1 per loco. Individual locos available for $7.

The model utilises 3 levels of detail (LOD), animated driver/engineer and coalman/fireman, Industry enabling for coal and water. Special texture mapping techniques are used with real rivet detail where applicable, specular and normal mapping for a bit of glossiness demanded by TS2009 and TS2010. Custom horn and bell sounds. Cab and tender lookout views are included. Tested and approved for TRS2004, TRS2006, TS2009WBE and TS2010EE. The clean version is shown, with weathered version in last pics. Note this is a LONG loco/tender, and care should be taken to ensure no tight curves on layout, although the Mallet principle will allow reasonable curves.

COMPATABLE WITH

This class of 42 2-6-6-4 locomotives were built by Norfolk and Western Roanoke shops, and the A class was the finest steam loco built in the USA. Of the 42, only one survives, the only surviving 2-6-6-4 in the world, currently housed in Virginia State Museum of Transport.It was of the Mallet type, having fixed rear drivers, and sliding, rotating front drivers. The rear was the high pressure end, the exhaust steam passing to the front larger cylinders as low pressure.Railroads using the 2-6-6-4 locos were Norfolk & Western, Southern and Virginian Railroads.
