COMPATABLE WITH

Built to the original design in 1909 to replace the J69 design, for light passenger service. For their size, these small locos had large cabs and earned the nickname 'Crystal Pallace Tanks'. They were primarily used in East Anglia but in the 1930's were moved to Scotland. Only 12 were made, and although strong (one example pulled 10 coaches) they were destined for the junk pile in the early 30's. The sample shown are the BR early livery,LNER livery and GER blue. 2 survived to BR days, but all were scrapped by 1948.
