LNER D49 4-4-0 Loco

The pack contains 3 LNER/BR D49 named locos with different numbers and names, animated driver and coalman figures, industry enabled tenders, including 12 months warranty, all updates and fixes for $12 US. You may select the 3 running numbers and livery (LNER Green/LNER Black/BR early/BR late). Please add $1 per loco for weathering. Individual locos are $6 each.

COMPATABLE WITH

Known as the Shire/Hunt class, these locos were named after the shires of England, and the famous fox hunts of the period. The design was completed in February 1926, the first loco (234 Yorkshire) shipped the following year. 76 were erected in 3 variants between 1927 and 1938. Both the Walschaerts and the Lentz valve gear types are modelled (pics here show the Walschaerts type fitted to the Shire Class). The bulk of these were allocated to Scotland and the north east England for express passenger service. In the days of BR, many B1's were built that replaced the D49 class, although some D49's were used up to 1955 to haul coal. All were withdrawn between 1957 and 1961. The last 62712 Morayshire was purchased privatly and is fully restored and running.
