LNER A8 4-6-2 Peppercorn Loco

The pack contains 3 LNER A8 locos with different numbers/livery, driver and coalman figures, including 12 months warranty, all updates and fixes for $12 US. You may select the 3 running numbers and livery (LNER Green/LNER Black/BR Early/BR Late). Additional numbers add $4 each. Please add $1 per loco for weathering. Individual locos are $6 each.

COMPATABLE WITH

Peppercorn as the Chief Mechanical Engineer for LNER was responsible for the production of the Pacific A8 4-6-2 loco at the time of handover to BR in 1948. Although the loco was designed prior to this, the erecting occurred in early BR times, 1948/9 and hence over its life had several liveries, starting with the LNER (Doncaster or Darlington) green but with BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender, then for a short period the locos were the BR blue. After this they were dressed in BR green with the early BR logo, and lastly Brunswick green with the later BR crest on the tender. To further confuse (or delight some) lining and nameplate was different for each type. All variants the 49 locos have been made, you may select the period, colour, logo and name/number. The last Peppercorn A8 was withdrawn in 1966, none survived into preservation. However a new one, No 60163 'Tornado' has been built.
