LNER D14 4-4-0 Claud HamiltonLoco

Designed for the GER in the late 1880's, the Claud Hamilton was unique for its time. Holden was the CME for GER and introduced the class, the first loco being number 1900, at about that year. The locos were initially produced in the GER Royal Blue livery, which quickly won a gold medal at the 1900 Paris Exhibition. 40 were produced like the one below. They soon adopted the class name of the original Claud Hamilton, number 1900. Subsequent batches were modified in design to have belpaire fireboxes and differing boilers, these became the D15 and D16 classes, the Super Clauds.
