LMS Garratt 2-6-0-0-6-2 loco
Beyer-Garratt articulated locomotives were built in Manchester, England and could be found in many parts of the British Empire. Back home the LNER bought one and used it as a banking locomotive on the former Great Central railway in Yorkshire. The LMS bought a small fleet of Beyer-Garrett locomotives for use on heavy coal trains between the Nottingham area and the London area.
A truly magnificent locomotive, was one of several Garratt Articulated classes introduced in 1927. Of the class displayed, 3 were made (Nos 4997-4999), these were superceded over the years and a total of 30 large Garratt locos were deployed by the LMS. The sight of these hauling hundreds of coal wagons was an impressive sight never to be repeated.
Now is your opportunity to run all these machines on you Trainz layout in either LMS or BR numbers/livery.
