Industrial Locos - Victory
The Kerr Stuart Company was commissioned to build 10 locos for use during the WWI, in 1916. The initial order was for more. but 10 were finally agreed upon at the end of hostilities and were destined for France, but were used initially by the Inland Waterways and Docks. After a while these were disposed of round the country to serve in coal mines and other Indusries for general shunting duties. 3 were adopted to the GWR to become 666, 667 and 2161. They were also used by the National Coal Board and eventually by BR in 1948. 2 survive. They are available in several liveries: ex-works grey, I. W. & D. light green, GWR green, NCB black and BR black. The 605 Nelson and 606 Trafalgar are special commissions. The last pic depics the GWR 666 version.
What is depicted here is one of their locos, Victory in light green weathered livery.
