GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY Articulated Suburban Coach Stock
Articulated coaches were designed and introduced into the Great Western Railway in 1925. Their purpose was to reduce the friction between wheels and the track by utilizing a bogie between coaches. Although successfull, were all converted to standard bogies around 1936 and re-introduced back into standard use.
These coaches, in Maroon livery, dated from 1925, were used on the Suburban lines. They were configured to suit application, ranging from 2 car sets through 3 car sets all the way to 8 car sets (Brake 1st,1st, 1st Rest, Kitchen, 3rd Rest, 3rd, 3rd, Brake 3rd).
These models for TRS2004 represent a selection of the unique Articulated coach stock of the period. They are all SP2 Passenger enabled, allowing the enthusiast to model a realistic GWR scene between 1926 and WWII.
Each coach was individually engineered with special detailing in the door handles, curved grab handles and lettering, as well as the GWR Logo on each coach. The coaches are all numbered, using authentic GWR running numbers for the period. The 1st Restaurant, Kitchen and 3rd Restaurant will be released later.
They are individually priced at $3 each, or $12 for the set (a saving of $6). All prices are in US $. The models come with a full 12 month warranty, giving you full technical support, all upgrades, cosmetic and engineering fixes to coaches.
