BR 9F Class Loco
The 9F was the last steam locomotive designed and built for Heavy Freight use in the United Kingdom, and was designed and built by the new British Railways in 1951. Steam was replaced by diesel/electric in the mid 60's, so this class represents the culmination of a truly magnificent era. The Era of Steam Railways from 1825 to 1965, 140 years of continual development from 10HP all the way to thousands of HP. Speed rose from 4 MPH to 126 MPH, a record that had lasted for many years and is seldom reached with todays modern counterparts.
The 9F class pack comprises those as shown below, No 92220 'Evening Star' 92203 'Black Prince' and one other numbered 9F loco, or any choice of 3 locos. There are 3 different tenders, one lined BR Green, the other 2 are pre 1957 BR logo, the other post 1957 BR logo. Animated driver and coalman are included as well as user definable headcodes, discs or lamps.
